40 Car Pileup Shuts Down I-70

At least 40 vehicles, including several semi trucks, were involved in a pileup on westbound I-70 in Hendricks County, just outside of Indianapolis, on Thursday.

The crash happened just after 2 p.m. near State Road 267, in Hendricks County, not far from the Indianapolis International Airport.

Both directions of the highway were shut down and Several Injuries have been reported as well as reports of people trapped in vehicles.

Thursday’s blowing snow and frigid temperatures contributed to the crash.

Area Hospitals in Hendricks County have be put on alert to brace for a large influx of patients.
