Coldest air in decades is setting in to Muncie

This week is peak Indiana weather if I have ever seen it. Temperatures will drop to as low as -16º in some spots and windchills will be pushing 35-45 degrees below zero. Sub zero conditions last for about 36 hours as a slow warmup starts on Thursday. We start pushing in more and more warm air and by the weekend we can see temperatures in the 50’s. That being said we are under a Wind Chill Warning from 10pm tonight all the way through 1pm Thursday afternoon. Also Delaware county is under a travel warning starting at 10pm tonight going through 8am Wednesday morning.

Friday is looking to be interesting as a system is looking to move through dumbing snow over our area. This looks to be like an accumulating snow but nothing heavy and this is something that our area can handle. There will definitely be an impact on the morning commute on Friday so keep it tuned in here.
