Icy Conditions to Cause Travel Headaches Tonight, Snow to linger post thumbnail image

Here is this evening’s weather briefing with WCRD Weather Forecaster Nathan Gagnon:

Freezing rain/Sleet/Snow and everything in between is currently ongoing across all of East Central Indiana this evening and will continue as we progress through the rest of the night into tomorrow morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect till 10 am EDT for ice accumulations approaching 2 tenths of inch and snow accumulations of up to 2 inches.

Heading into the rest of Thursday and Friday, snow will linger around as the second stage of this dynamic storm system begins to get going east of the Appalachian Mountains. High temperatures will struggle to top 30 degrees and low temperatures will sink into the low 20s.

Between Friday and Sunday, several smaller storms systems will swing through the area leading to some additional small chances for a rain/snow mix with high temperatures starting to approach 40.

If you have to head out at all this evening, please stay safe and allow for extra time on the roadways. Have a great evening!
