Good evening everyone! The National Weather Service has put a Winter Storm Warning in effect beginning at 1 AM EST January 25th until 7 PM EST January 25th.
This Winter Storm Warning has been released because we are expecting snow here in Muncie beginning overnight tonight. Expect snow showers through late tonight until tomorrow evening around 7 PM. As the snow moves in later tonight, it will be light to moderate accumulation. Moving into tomorrow morning, snow is expected to fall at a heavier rate. This will lead to larger accumulations on the roadways and grassy areas. Be sure to be cautious through tomorrow as you are traveling. Wind gusts could reach up to 30 mph tomorrow and this could lead to blowing snow. Be cautious of your surroundings while driving.
As far as total accumulation from this system, we are expecting anywhere from 5 to 8 inches of snow. Most models are leaning towards around 7 inches, but this range is subject to change depending on new data.
