Amphitheater coming to Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind – Ball State University has announced the construction of the Brown Family Amphitheater during the final Board of Trustees meeting of 2020.

Charles W. Brown, a Ball State graduate, has donated an additional $2.8 million which will aid in the construction of the outdoor performance and gathering place.

The amphitheater will be located between Park and Pruis Halls and between Noyer and Woodworth Complexes.

According to a press release by the university, the amphitheater “will offer Ball State and Muncie an outdoor venue that will bring people together for theater and music while providing a flexible place for activities outdoors.”

Seth Beckman, Dean for the College of Fine Arts, agrees.

“In collaboration with our many campus and community partners, the Brown Family Amphitheater will enable our art, music, theatre, and dance programs to come together as never before. This new space will spark creativity and inspire partnerships for generations to come.”
